This morning, my hostel kept me from leaving my backpack there for the rest of the day. I’m leaving Canberra tonight, so they told me to take it. That meant I had to carry the entire house wherever I went. My backpack is, luckily enough, notable light, and it’s backpacking in its purest form, but also annoying. I didn’t let it get to my heart and started my last day exploring Canberra!
Today I’m going to all places I had left to visit, from art galleries and libraries to the old and new Australian Parliament House. I also checked out the gardens as it was a sunny day. A perfect day for my last day in Canberra, and I’m pretty excited to get to Syndey tomorrow, the end of travelling around Australia, Part. 1.
Australian Parliament House
Day three in Canberra was exceptional, and it was pretty cool to see both the old and new Australian Parliament House from the inside and the outside. Here is where all decisions are made and the place you constantly see on television interviews.
It did surprise me that I could go inside and around the Parliament House. I had no idea; therefore, the security wasn’t too happy with my big bag. But I’m a backpacker and a traveller, what else would you expect?
In talking about it, also, this morning, I booked flight tickets! You may already have guessed the next destination if you’ve consistently read my blogs and vlogs. With less than a week left in Australia, it was about time.
Jakarta, Indonesia, and honestly, I can’t wait. I tried to let my travels provide for themself, and finding an Indonesian bank note on the floor in the Coffs Harbour hostel; there was only one direction to go! I’ll disclose what this change of direction means for the rest of my travels, but that will be in a later post! Stay tuned.
