It feels like a new start | Perth to Cairns | Vlog 59 & 60

I’ve been having such a fantastic time completing this road trip along the west coast of Australia. Unfortunately, nothing lasts forever, and despite starting this day with car problems, I’ve made it back to Perth.

The issues with my car were my fault. It was such a hot evening that I put the aircon on and fell asleep. It was no surprise that I ran out of battery. In the morning, I had to write a sign on the back of my cornflakes box and wait until someone stopped and started the car.

It took a while, and I got a little stressed because the vehicle had to be back by 10 am. Luckily, I got there in the end. I was sad leaving the car behind, but it felt good to be on the road again with the backpack.

I had a leisurely day in Perth, returning to the hostel world. My flight to Cairns was at midnight, so there was no rush. After a small stroll through the city, I went to the library to sort my videos and upload them to the cloud.

In the evening, I planned to meet with some friends I made in Monkey Mia. We went for dinner together and then watched some typical Australian series. Afterwards, my new friends brought me to the airport.

It was an incredible first month in Australia! From here, the adventure will continue on the east coast of Australia.

Welcome to Queensland!

Arriving in my second Australian state, Queensland, felt like a new beginning. I immediately made my first friends, and after freshening up from my overnight flight, I joined her on a trip to Palm Cove, North of Cairns.

Afterwards, we made empanadas for dinner when we returned to the hostel. I was tired because sleeping on a plane never worked out that well. But here we go again, this time on the east coast! Fasten those seat belts; it might be a wild ride!
