Yesterday‘s plan to visit and hike around Penang National Park didn’t work out. Although, admittingly, I was of good intentions, and I took the bus to the entrance. But then, as I didn’t feel like hiking in the park, I turned around and returned to the hostel.
Instead, I did quite the opposite. I went to a movie theatre and bought enough popcorn and drinks to get me through Toy Story 3. I know it isn’t the most exciting thing to do for a traveller, but I partied too much the nights before. Besides, a shoutout to the movie, as I did like it, haha. Smart Yentl went to bed early yesterday to get to Penang National Park today before heading to his next destination.
The Penang National Park;
Okay, as much as I felt guilty for turning around yesterday, I could not have done this the same way. I did every walking track you can do in the Penang National Park. Ultimately, I went to the faraway beaches and ran into a turtle sanctuary. The people were super friendly, and besides turtles, they had plenty of information on the whole park and its animals. At least, when I did the National Park, I did it thoroughly and not half.
It was my last night in Penang, and after Penang National Park, I went out again. I wasn’t worried that I was leaving early tomorrow morning. Looking at my following destinations, it will be the last one for a while, and I made it a big one. Some of my friends had already left, but a backpacker only needed a little time to meet new people. I cannot tell you what time it was and how many clubs and bars we went to, but man, I had a great night after a great day.
