No exploring today, I went to the movies in Malaysia by myself | Penang | Vlog 171

Penang, so far, did not yet allow me to go to bed very early. I’m in a little bit of a party mood at the moment. There are plenty of fun people around, and I can’t resist when they ask me to hang around. The feeling of this trip ending makes me want to enjoy it a little extra.

Australia won’t be nearly as cheap as Malaysia, so better here than in about ten days when I arrive in Melbourne. I will have little money left, but let that be a problem for later. My flight is booked, and my visa is approved. What’s the worst that can happen? There is always a home in Belgium if it doesn’t work out.

The Penang National Park, or not?

It was one of the first times drinking affected a day of travelling in the last six months. However, I started the day well. Full of energy, I left the hostel in the morning, found myself a great place to have breakfast and got onto the bus. On the itinerary was the Penang National Park. I got to the entry, spent some time on the beaches, and thought, no, this is not happening.

I couldn’t be bothered and took the bus back to my hostel to make a new itinerary for today. My solution? I went to a movie theatre to watch Toy Story 3. This was a better option for today, loaded with popcorn and a drink!

I went to a concert to not entirely waste a day, and because I had no other options as this was the only night, it was on. Modern Malaysian music was the theme. It might not have been my thing, but I enjoyed watching the musicians play. Also, I was the only audience, so I’m sure it wasn’t just me not being a big fan.
