I do sometimes get sick of this public transport | Java to Bali | Vlog 144

My last two days in Java weren’t quite what I expected. To put it simply, I had a scooter accident in Banyuwangi and had to cancel both trips. Instead, I spent the last two days at the hostel, feeling disappointed about not being able to explore. But I’m still travelling, and as a traveller, I need to keep moving. Today, I’m leaving my amazing adventures in Java behind and heading to Bali!

I’m not sure how long I’ll stay in Bali or when I’ll head back to Jakarta. Not to mention, I still need to decide where to go next. These are decisions I’ll need to make over the coming days or weeks.

Travelling to Bali:

Travelling typically involves a lot of public transport, and today was no exception. It started with a taxi from the hostel to the ferry terminal for Bali. Once in Bali, I took two buses to Ubud, my next destination. I also had to part ways with my travel companion, as she was heading north.

By the time I arrived in Ubud, the sun was already setting. Fortunately, the bus’s open door kept me entertained, because switching between different transport modes can make a day feel quite long.

I checked into my new hostel and headed to the rooftop bar and restaurant for dinner. There, I unexpectedly ran into one of my travel companions from my Australia trip. At the beginning of my east coast journey, she was my first friend in Cairns, and now we’re reunited in Bali. The world can be incredibly small sometimes. This isn’t the first time I’ve run into people while travelling, but it always catches me by surprise. From sharing a room in Cairns to sharing a room in Ubud! #hostellife What a perfect way to start my Bali adventure!
