Walking the Great Ocean Walk | Devil’s Kitchen to the Twelve Apostles | Vlog 8

I can’t believe it, but it’s already our last day on the Great Ocean Walk. The previous week was just amazing. We built up this whole walking routine and loved waking up and just enjoying all the views and free time. During the trip, many people told us about the dunny (an Australian word for toilet) with the view at the last campsite. And yes, it’s true, you get to enjoy some great views from the toilet here. It looks out over the stunning valley below.

It was a misty day, but nothing could stop us now; from here, it’s almost a straight line to the finish at the twelve apostles. We are sad to leave this trail behind. The experience was better than we had ever expected. I can only recommend the Great Ocean Walk. It’s a must-do in Australia.

About halfway between the campsite and the twelve apostles, there’s a little town called Princetown. It’s a classic stop for end-to-end hikers. After eating dry food all week, it’s the last chance to treat yourself to some real food before ending the trail. We couldn’t miss that stop; I’ve longed to have a burger since we started. It was great that we went because we would split ways with Claire after the walk, and this way, we could talk and hang out in a more comfortable environment.

The twelve apostles were coming closer with every step we took. It has been eight days of walking and being away from society. The best thing was that I did not have a phone connection. It felt fantastic, and I felt like turning around and doing it again, but the feeling that came with the achievement was incredible.

We were all so happy. We did it; the Great Ocean Walk stops here. The walk, but the adventure continued. We started to hitchhike to Port Campbell, a little town where we could camp the night. After a bit of a shopping trip, we could enjoy some beers again. What a great week that we can look back on.
