Yesterday was amazing. We had plenty of fun checking out all the playgrounds in Hervey Bay. It wasn’t what we had planned but entirely what we wanted!
Today we take the time to see the more tourist things around Hervey Bay! The botanical gardens were the first stop, which has been an absolute classic for me in the last few months. I’ve seen the botanical gardens everywhere I went. It was a while out of town, so we hitch-hiked there in the morning. In addition, the Japanese gardens were only within walking distance from the botanical gardens, so that was a big bonus.
Does someone need a fridge?
We had little planned for afterwards, but we knew what we wanted to do when we returned to Hervey Bay. No more touristic things around Hervey Bay, but a little shopping tour! None of us had been in furniture or electro shops for ages. So, we just knew what to do when we saw them in the street. Not that we needed anything, it was more about hanging around and having a good time.
Since I’m already leaving again tomorrow, I needed to do one more thing on my list. I wanted to see the sunset at the Jetty. From the shopping district, we followed the coast until we got to the Jetty. We talked and laughed all evening before going back to the hostel.
It didn’t stop when we got back. We had dinner and played games with all the other friends that we had made. It’s funny to feel so connected with people you barely know. But these other travellers are my little family, and my hostel is my home. The places I visit are where I live, and my occupation is being a traveller. Not the average tourist traveller. Since this is becoming more and more of a lifestyle, I feel like a real traveller every day a little more!
