What Thailand’s former capital looks like today | Ayutthaya | Vlog 9

It’s already my last full day in Thailand! After exploring Bangkok and Chiang Mai in the north, it’s time to visit the former capital of Thailand, Ayutthaya. I can’t believe how fast this week went; it still feels like I just arrived here. And it’s been so good. The last week has been treating me extremely well!

Tomorrow I’ll be on my way to Cambodia. I’m sad to leave Thailand. On the other hand also very excited as this is proper travelling. With the second country coming up, I’m officially leaving the start of my trip behind. Travelling between countries is backpacking to the fullest!

Visiting Ayutthaya:

Since I only had one day planned in Ayutthaya, I took the train early morning. This way, I could make the most of my last full day in Thailand. When I got there, I went from one temple to another, and they all blew my mind. These temples are magnificent. It was also the first day I was travelling alone. On all previous days, I made friends instantly everywhere I went. But today, I didn’t look for anyone to spend the day together. It didn’t bother me that much, as I was happy to have some alone time. It was great, so many temples in one day! The perfect warm-up for Cambodia!

After a full day exploring Ayutthaya, I found another option to get back to Bangkok. The train in the morning was great but taking the boat back sounded way more adventurous. It didn’t bring me back into the city, so I also took a metro. I’ll wander around Khoa San Road tonight to get those last impressions and some street food! An early hostel night as my bus will leave early morning, and I want to attend it.
