Exploring the Sticky Waterfalls | Chiang Mai | Vlog 7

On my second day in Chiang Mai, we are already leaving the city. One of the top things on my itinerary was the Sticky Waterfalls—a bunch of waterfalls in the middle of the rainforest that allow you to swim and climb. A particular mineral in the water reacts with the stones and gets sticky enough to walk in the waterfall.

That sounded very cool, so that I couldn’t miss the Sticky Waterfalls! It’s a far ride from the city, and I’m not experienced with motorbikes, but I went for the challenge. In the end, that’s what I’m here for. That’s why I started this travel.

Our trip to the Sticky Waterfalls:

At my hostel, I asked who wanted to join me for a trip, but none of my previously made friends felt like doing the long motorbike drive. It’s incredible how fast backpackers make friends because I found someone else to join me. Thea, a German backpacker, decided to take on the adventure, so we left for our trip. We stopped at other sights to split the long drive into small sections. That way it was alright to drive the long distance.

The waterfalls themselves were stunning, and it was so much fun climbing them. Those rainforests make you fall in love with them immediately. By the time we got home, it was already dark. And, yes, I can start calling hostels my home. We told everybody about our great day, and I’m sure they regretted not coming. Nevertheless, everybody had a great day, and you can’t do everything, everywhere.
