Counting shells on Shell Beach! | Coral Bay to Denham | Vlog 51 & 52

In the last two days, my West Coast road trip took me from Coral Bay to Denham. But, the next destination was a stop halfway between them, Carnarvon. I spent the day checking out the general coastline and the Space and Technology Museum. Also, in Carnarvon, there is another HMAS Sydney II memorial, and since I learned everything about it in Geraldton, I also wanted to go and see it here.

I spent the night here and, on day 52, drove the way to Denham. The area is famous in Australia for banana plantations. Therefore the big banana was also a must-see here. Nothing too impressive, but it’s another thing checked off my Western Australia list.

Carnarvon – shell Beach – Denham

I didn’t go straight from Carnarvon to Denham but stopped at Shell Beach. This beach has nothing to do with the company Shell but owns its name because it doesn’t have any sand. It is one of only two beaches made entirely from shells. Stretching 60 km and having a depth between 7 to 10 meters, they are everywhere, and you guessed it right; it means many shells, haha! It was great to see, but not a place to walk barefoot!

Later I arrived in Denham itself, and it was beautiful. I went for a stroll in the harbour and walked along the coastline. That is what this road trip is intended for, seeing as much west coast as possible. While walking, I found my own Nature’s window. Not as impressive or comparable to the one in Kalbarri National Park, but it was still fun to see. Have you been spotting all those sunsets the last few days? I’ve been trying extra hard to get them on camera because they are gorgeous.
