Sleeping on the night train from Bangkok to Chiang Mai! | Vlog 6

Welcome to my first Chiang Mai vlog! My first Chiang Mai vlog? I can only hope that I can use that sentence a lot. Preferably with regularly changing destinations. I’ve just spent the last five days in Bangkok, which was amazing! I never expected that I would like it so much. All the places I saw, the new friends I made and getting used to this new lifestyle. It all felt so good and excited me to get to my next destination! Even the way to get there was exciting as the night train from Bangkok to Chiang Mai is a traveller’s must-do! Write it on your list; it’s a classic Thailand backpacker thing to do 🙂

Arriving in Chiang Mai

Together with Mandy (my latest travel friend), we arrived in the late morning at Chiang Mai central station. We took a tuk-tuk taxi from the airport to the hostel and checked in. The journey was incredible; I slept pretty well on board the train, and every time I looked out of the windows, there was this typical Thailand countryside view.

We only had a little time to lose as we had only spent a few days here. Immediately the trip continued with some sightseeing in Chiang Mai, and I’m also going to like this next destination on my list! My hostel isn’t the best, but it was cheap, so it’s one or another!

Our Bangkok friend, Charlotte, texted in the morning that her plans had changed and she would take the bus to meet up with us in the evening. So when she got to Chiang Mai, the three of us went to see and eat at one of the many food markets. We met many other backpackers back in the hostel and spent the rest of the night hanging out together. There are people here that are already travelling for more than three years. That’s crazy but so cool!
