Chinese New Year at the Marina Bay | Singapore | Vlog 35

It is already my last day in Singapore and will be utterly jam-packed. There are still many things that I want to do, and it also happens to be Chinese New Year! The weather couldn’t be better, so that set the mood in a good direction.

I left the hostel early to head to the botanical gardens. They didn’t disappoint me at all, as they are just stunning. I’ve been walking around for hours to fully let the views sink in. I also searched for some wildlife and saw some turtles and goannas—significant success for the day’s first trip.

Chinese New Year in Singapore

I planned a temple visit and a market for my walk back into the city. It took me longer than expected, as it was already dark by the time I got back into the city. All good because the next thing on my list was the fountain light show over Marina Bay. It will be an extended night because that was only the start for today!

Way to go, Singapore! So many things to see and so many things to do and lots of celebrations and festivals everywhere. On my way to an ongoing light festival I wanted to check out, I bumped into another concert from the music festival.

Later that evening, Thea and I met again and went to the Chinese New Year celebrations over Marina Bay. What a great way to end this Asian adventure. It has been five tremendous and impressive weeks that I’m ending with fireworks in Singapore. I couldn’t have ever imagined it to be this good.

Tomorrow I’m flying to Australia, which is only the second chapter of this adventure. I can’t wait to get it started! Even if it’s only half as good as this Asian journey, I would be happy. And it’s not going to be; it might even be better! I’ll keep you guys updated for sure!
