Exploring the Gardens By The Bay in Singapore | Vlog 33

It’s my first full day in Singapore! Over the past few weeks, I learned to make the best of my time in certain places. Soon I’ll be flying to Australia, so I was out and about early this morning. Firstly, I returned to Marina Bay to let those views sink in during daylight. Later, I met up with the friends I made while crossing the border yesterday. We agreed to meet in the big shopping mall near the Gardens By The Bay. Today will be all about the Gardens!

Gardens By The Bay

Gardens By The Bay was a part of Singapore’s plan to raise the quality of life by enhancing greenery and flora in the city. This famous nature park in the Central Region of Singapore spans about 101 hectares. The park consists of three waterfront gardens in the Marina. In the Bay South Gardens, one of those three, you find The Flower Dome, which has the largest glass greenhouse in the world. About 50 million people visit the gardens every year.

Next to the gardens, there is the Marina Bay hotel, which is a very significant landmark of the skyline in Singapore. We went up to the hotel for a swim and a drink. The views from the top, all over Singapore, are just amazing. As a backpacker, staying here is unaffordable, so I was already happy just going up.

The music festival was also still going on, so we went to see a concert again to finish the day. When the orchestra finished their show, we had to rush back to the gardens to see the famous light show. On returning to the hostel, I even ran into another ongoing concert. First day in Singapore; big success! It’s just all so fantastic, exciting and working out so well.
