Six months ago, I skipped the Cameron highlands the first time I came to Malaysia. I wanted to visit this area because people told me it was a fabulous and stunning place to hang out. Back then, there needed to be more time on my itinerary to add this destination. Now, six months later, I am here for different reasons.
Looking back on my travels and how they have grown over the last half-year, I discovered a passion for hiking. The primary reason is that walking to and visiting places is cheaper and better on foot. Afterwards, I looked forward to and planned multiple hikes at every destination.
As I like to challenge myself, those hikes have become longer and more complex. In addition, halfway through my travels, I even bought hiking poles. This time I came here to hike in the Cameron Highlands.
Hike in the Cameron Highlands:
Known as one of the best places to walk in Malaysia, there are ten famous routes to hike in the Cameron Highlands. These ten hikes are the best ones chosen by locals. There is more, but not as essential as these. There is a ranking for the ten famous hiking routes in the Cameron Highlands that goes from easy and shorter to longer and harder. For two hikes on the list, they discourage tourists from doing them. You have to be well-prepared and know the area to do them.
I know you could see it from afar, but I aim to hike all ten of them in the following days. I prepared myself enough over the last months to do the not recommended hikes—no time to lose. To start my adventure, I’ll immediately begin with two more challenging walks that bring me to the top of Gunung Berenbun. I’m here to hike in the Cameron Highlands. Bring on those jungle walks!
