We left Siem Reap early in the morning, and it was hard to get out of bed. I missed some things on my itinerary yesterday, so I booked my tuk-tuk for a second day. No drinks this time but playing volleyball in the swimming pool until late. It’s crazy how much energy I have in my body! I must be on an adrenaline rush from being here.
Solo travelling feels like the missing piece in my life. Not that I didn’t have a great life before. Being a professional musician gave me the best experiences I could ever wish to have. But this is different, I am just so happy, and so much energy comes with that feeling. It’s hard to describe, but it’s incredible!
Siem Reap and Angkor wat:
The Angkor Wat temples are impressive; this place is truly magical. I had the best day visiting all of the surrounding temples. Besides being beautiful, it’s also pretty hot; all those stones constantly reflect the heat. But I can’t complain about the weather; it is better than winter in Belgium! Also, my Tuk-Tuk driver and I are starting to talk while driving, so I get to learn some things about daily life in Cambodia simultaneously. It’s exceptional, and I even got to see some temples that got featured in different movies. I should write a list about it soon! I need help finding a good overview on the internet!
Back at the hostel, my Dutch friends and I went randomly to a local circus. Not that we were the only tourists going there, but most of the people were locals. I ended up chatting until late with the drummer of the music ensemble. He wrote and directed all the music. It was a great show, and it was a great day. Siem Reap is an excellent place to visit!
