Walking the Great Ocean Walk | Cape Otway to Aire River | Vlog 4

We didn’t sleep in today because we spent the night at the Cape Otway station and were super excited to check it out. The morning was an excellent start for an even better day; the sun was shining, and it was raining, but we didn’t care, and we were just so happy to be on this walk. Our bodies felt less sore, and we adjusted to this walking lifestyle. We looked in the museum, went up the lighthouse to check the views and had a coffee with cake afterwards in the little shop. It was also the time to recharge the batteries of our cameras so we could keep you posted with these blogs and vlogs! From a challenging walk, it suddenly went into a relaxing trip. On our way to Aire River today!

The 10km walk from Cape Otway to Aire River was just fantastic. We almost walked along the ocean the whole day and went from one fabulous view to the other. The weather was totally on our side, and the weight from our backpacks was very comfortable. We told each other several times how good it was to do this walk. You get to take in the views and fully enjoy the moments. It would be entirely different to do it by car. Probably easier, but I wouldn’t want to change the feeling we have today for anything. It has just been a great day.

We could see how we got closer to Aire River as the last section was downhill. It looked great from far away, and once we got closer, we were even happier. It is a beautiful place to camp, hang around and finish this great day. Also, a big shoutout to Victoria Parks, as all these campsites are clean and well-made. Aire River is also known as a camp spot for non-Great Ocean Walk-hikers, but they ensured we had our hikers camping and wouldn’t be disturbed by car tourists.
