Bucket list item: Sunrise at Angor Wat | Siem Reap | Vlog 12

It’s not that I regret my decision yesterday to go out for drinks. But waking up this morning was much harder than anticipated. I have something big planned for today, which has been on my bucket list forever. We are doing the sunrise at the Angkor Wat temples! Yes, it was a short night, and I’m not a morning person, but this was worth it. It is one of the best things I have done on this travel.

Sunrise at Angkor Wat

What a magical experience. Firstly, I am travelling the world alone and made it to Cambodia. Secondly, I saw the sun come up behind the Angkor Wat temples. I considered myself lucky and took the time to embrace the moment fully. Once the sun had risen, we could start walking around the temple complex. Do you know how they always say on television that this place is huge? Well, it is enormous, and there are so many temples I want to see. I ensured I saw every little corner before moving to the next temple by Tuk-Tuk.

I underestimated the size of this complex and needed more time to see it all. In the end, I hired a Tuk-Tuk for the whole day to drive me around and ended up asking him for the next two days. The guy was lovely, and we agreed on a reasonable price. So that’s the following days sorted. These are the most beautiful temples I’ll ever see; it’s worth any effort.

The day was great, and so was the evening. I made some friends in the hostel, and we played volleyball in the swimming pool again until late. What a lifestyle to have, I can’t believe I am doing this for the next 7 months.
