This is why I brought my sleeping bag.. | Phnom Penh | Vlog 14

Being too excited about conversing with the drummer and musical director of the circus yesterday, I forgot to mention that I’m moving locations. I returned to the hostel, said my goodbyes and then got myself ready for an overnight bus. We left around midnight, and I made it to Phnom Penh this morning.

My pro tip: take a sleeping bag on your trips; you never know when you might need it. The night bus itself was pretty dirty, and it was the first time I was delighted with bringing a sleeping bag on this travels. It is worth carrying the extra weight to avoid situations like these.

Phnom Penh:

It didn’t take long for me to be out and go sightseeing again. I’m not wasting any moment on this travels or in Phnom Penh. In the past two weeks, I learned that I only have limited time in different locations, so I have to make the best of it.

Because I loved the swimming pool in yesterday’s hostel so much, I booked a hostel here with an even bigger swimming pool. It didn’t disappoint me; this swimming pool is the perfect addition! I have already met many new people, and everybody is super friendly. I know that I am just going to have another great time.

Also, in this Phnom Penh hostel, I met the first Belgian traveller on this trip! Debbie is from Antwerp and is also travelling solo. Her journey is shorter than mine as she is only holidaying for about three weeks.

Back in Belgium, three weeks always sounded great. This time I realised that this trip would almost last an entire year. We exchanged contact details to meet in Belgium and talk about the trip when I get back!
