I’ve got another day to spend in Coffs Harbour, my second town in New South Wales! Yesterday may not have started on the best note, but it turned out to be a great day. After a fantastic night’s sleep, today started much better—unsurprisingly, since I didn’t get any sleep the day before.
There was a market in Coffs, so instead of heading straight to the Southern Break Wall, I took a leisurely stroll through it first. A band was playing too, so I couldn’t resist grabbing a coffee and enjoying the impromptu concert. It’s a beautiful day, and before my planned walk, I spent some time exploring the nearby beaches. Since yesterday’s itinerary changed, I’d only seen the Jetty and beaches at sunrise anyway.
Southern Break Wall
Yesterday I went hiking in the Muttonbird Island Nature Reserve. Today I’ll explore the other side of the harbour, which looked more promising than the north side. On my itinerary are the Southern Break Wall and Corambirra Point.
From there, I’ll walk back to Coffs Harbour, where there should be a hiking trail on the other side of the hill. I watched sunrise at the reserve, and since I did some other things earlier today, I’ll catch the sunset on this side! Perfect timing for a two-day trip! Tonight, I’ll take the night bus to my next destination!
Since I have three days left on my bus pass, I’ve decided to skip Sydney for now and spend three days in Australia’s capital: Canberra. It’s quite a detour, but I really want to see it. Since I can travel overnight, I won’t waste much time. Following yesterday’s sign about my travels, Indonesia was calling loud and clear. That will be my next destination after Canberra. I’ll spend the night on the bus, so I’ll have more time to think it through! We’ll see what unfolds.
