Welcome to my first blog and vlog where I’ll share a glimpse of the first days of my journey around the world. I had originally planned to write this post yesterday, but life (and some unexpected party circumstances) got in the way. But now, moment has finally arrived; I left Belgium indefinitely to travel. I couldn’t be more excited and I’m confident this will be the first post of many to follow.

After leaving Brussels Airport and sitting on the plane for about 4 hours, I made it to Moscow Airport, had my 1.5-hour layover and got on my 9-hour plane to Bangkok. Since my departure date was the first of January, I had planned to take some rest on the plane. However, that didn’t happen because I ended up marathon-watching ‘Friends’ on both aircraft. Talking about no sleep, I also threw the plan for a quiet day and evening entirely overboard yesterday. The adrenaline of being solely in Bangkok allowed me to fully get lost in the city and explore the nightlife of Khao San Road.
First day of my trip:
My big party night didn’t interrupt my travel plans in the morning. I don’t have time enough in Bangkok to sleep the day away. I visited The Grand Palace, Wat Phra Kaew and Wat Pho and even made my first friends. Unfortunately, our paths went quickly in different directions. Still, on my boat trip on the Chao Phraya River, I met another traveller, and we visited Wat Arun and the Chinatown together!
Traveling alone can be a bit challenging, as it’s often hard to find a person to take time to make a picture of you. Fortunately, at Wat Arun, my friend and I happily helped each other out 🙂

Since I’ve barely slept in the last 72 hours I’ll have a quieter evening today. I have too many things on the itinerary tomorrow to feel tired anyway. Don’t get me wrong; it feels great to get out of bed every morning for a life like this! I’m just travelling and exploring the city here. Everything I’ve ever wanted.
