After celebrating one hundred days of travelling, it was time to get on the road again! I’m leaving Brisbane behind and taking the bus to Surfers Paradise! I don’t have that many days left on my visa and my bus pass, so from here, it’s time to get organised! I also took some time while driving to properly plan the rest of my trip along the east coast of Australia.
It’s official now; I’m not going to make it to Melbourne on this trip, but I can have some days in Canberra in return! I’ll do that before Sydney, as I probably have to fly out from there. It’s also official now; I will come back; I still have to do Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia and the Northern-territory. Where I will go in between is still a mystery, but there are too many things I need to see.
Surfers Paradise:
My first day in Surfers Paradise was relaxed. At first, I went to check out the beach. It’s a surfer’s paradise; what else would you expect? Back in the hostel, I had a little rest and watched television for the second time on this trip. I never watched much in Belgium, but twice in 101 days is a record that makes me proud. Feeling too guilty about lying on the couch, I got out again and went for a drink in the Hard Rock Cafe. I saved visiting them up in Asia to add another to the list! Lucky me, I got a fantastic sunset on the way back to the hostel.
I only spent a little time in the hostel as a group of people wanted to go and party. My last party must have been in Cairns now, so there is no better way to start my new adventure. Making some friends always comes in handy!
