Animal cruelty, Cooking Classes and Swimming Pools | Yogyakarta | Vlog 137 and 138

It’s a funny feeling to experience and even a bit of a scary one. While travelling, once you spend five days in the same place, it feels like home. In the end, you always return to the same place after a day of exploring. In addition, you start knowing the people who work there and some of their guests. Even the area begins to feel familiar, and your dorm room has all your stuff spread out like a single room. It happened to me in Australia, and I experienced it again on days five and six in Yogyakarta. Although, those two days were completely different. The first of the two started with a cooking class in Yogyakarta.

Yogyakarta: Cooking Class

Yesterday, I booked something trendy among tourists in Asia. It was the first time I had done it, and Yogyakarta was an excellent place for a cooking class. I do this cooking class with some friends I made here, which is a perfect start for my last day of exploring. In the morning, we went to a couple of markets where we gathered everything to start cooking our meals. We had a great time, and our hosts explained everything very well.

In the afternoon, I went to explore some markets by myself! I wasn’t a fan of all caged animals and even coloured animals. But, it is, unfortunately, a part of the Asian culture, which is why I did want to go.

Day six was utterly different from day five. No more cooking classes in Yogyakarta, and I only left the hostel for my goodbye dinner and drinks with my friends here. I had paperwork and research to do. Although, it sounds pretty bad writing it down this way. I had paperwork to do, but I did that outside, in front of the swimming pool, where I had a little swim every half an hour! Saying it this way makes it sound better, indeed!

It’s a slight turning point in my travels, but I applied and researched for jobs in Melbourne. I’m having the time of my life here, but soon I’ll be in Victoria, Australia, on my working holiday visa, and I want to be prepared!
