There are few words to describe my latest adventure. The previous week, I was hiking the South Coast Track in the southwest national park of Tasmania. Simply, it was overwhelming and amazing. I’ll post a travel video soon, so you’ll know what I’m talking about! But, if I can make the video as I’m visualizing it in my head, that will be one of the best ones I made to date.
Besides, I’m also into writing travel guides, and I plan to write about reasons to hike the hike yourself, so keep an eye out for those updates. Regarding my plans, this was my last destination in southern Tasmania. I’m back in Hobart now, and from here, I will head up to North Tasmania.
North Tasmania
I still have plenty of plans in Tasmania, but with so many more upcoming projects, I’ve selected the more important ones. The North of Tasmania is trickier as there isn’t as much public transport as in the south. Consequently, I am still determining what’s going to happen.
My first stop in North Tasmania will be in Launceston. I’ll take some time to figure out how to get to Cradle Mountain. I’m not planning to hike the famous Overland track, but I would like to do a section. Besides, I’ve still got some things in Launceston where I haven’t been before, and I want to see them.
The winter is coming, so I had to cut some of my itineraries. Camping and hitch-hiking to remote places is not the best idea when the weather is very unpredictable as it is at the moment. I got fortunate on the South Coast Track, having a bit of after-summer. But, it took only a short time afterwards to get the antarctic storms coming into Australia.
Nothing is lost there, and I’m considering flying back to Melbourne soon. That was the plan before Tasmania, except if Covid-19 hadn’t changed it. It’s time to go and see my friends and start the next chapter of adventures.
