Travel Video: Maria Island | Camping, hiking and wildlife | Tasmania

The travel video of my trip to Maria Island is finally here! It has been a few busy days in Hobart. Besides preparing for my upcoming adventure on the South Coast Track, I’ve simultaneously written blogs and edited this Maria Island video. I’ve also started on the ten reasons why you should visit Maria Island, but with the South Coast Track about to happen, that may be some weeks away!

In 2019, I just made two videos of my trip to Thailand and stopped afterwards. Here is the Maria Island video, and as a result, I proudly present my third Tasmanian after-movie. At the moment, I’m already doing better than when I started this travel adventure.

Video: Maria Island Content

Maria Island was incredible, and I’ll post a little list of everything in the video below. As I said before in the ‘Next Stop: Port Arthur‘ post, during my four days on the island, I climbed both mountains with fantastic views all over the east coast, walked across the island, and saw plenty of wombats, gooses and even a Tasmanian Devil. In conclusion, it was a big success. And besides being a big success, it also allowed me to wind down for a moment and enjoy the small things around me.

On Maria Island, there are no cars, shops, electricity and even inhabitants except for many wild animals. There is even a penitentiary where you can sleep, but I’ve chosen to camp as that allowed me to roam around the island without returning to Darlington, the main town, each time. Say no more; you’ll get the feel by watching the video above. To get more information on Travelling to Maria Island, ensure to read the following posts:
