Am I a city person? Or not? | Kings Park | Perth | Vlog 39

While living in Belgium, I spent the last ten years in Leuven. It was fantastic to live in the centre of a city. Everything is nearby, and there is always something going on. Therefore, I still think of myself as a city person. However, things have started to change ever since this travel journey started.

Whenever I’m in a centre or have many buildings around me, I urge to check out nature and go for walks. More than ever before, I love walking and feel satisfied after a long day of hiking. It’s interesting how it suddenly changed. But, it’s for the better, as walking is one of the best travel methods, and it’s free.

Kings Park

Today we are making our way into nature by going to Kings Park and the botanical gardens. But, on the way there, I first have to check out the blue boathouse. It is a famous place to visit in Perth, and makes for some excellent pictures.

Kings park itself was beautiful and also my first experience in Australian nature. I also bumped into my first typical Australian sign, bandicoots. It won’t be the last sign or animal I will see in the coming months. I can’t wait to see Kangaroo hopping around once I leave Perth.

My visit to the botanical gardens was great, giving some stunning views of the city. Afterwards, when I returned to the hostel, I saw some friends I had made yesterday. It’s easy to make friends in Australia. In Asia, you always bump into a language barrier, and that’s not the case here. I found someone that wanted to join me at an indoor climbing centre. It is my second one on the list now. I’m not doing it as often as in Belgium, but it’s worth the effort.
