I have a dog! Or, at least the hostel where I am staying at.. | Medan | Vlog 166

I could have stayed longer in Bukit Lawang. Moreover, I could have stayed longer in Sumatra as well. I wasn’t convinced initially, but after exploring and travelling around for almost eight weeks in Indonesia, I started to love it. Unfortunately, with about three days left in Medan, the journey is slowly ending.

It is that I had to pick a date to fly to Australia. Besides, I left Belgium on the first of January, and since that’s six months ago, on the first of July, starting my new chapter on that day was a great option and opportunity.

In addition, flying from Kuala Lumpur was way cheaper than any other destination within reach. I’m not sad about going back to Malaysia, and I have things I want to do. It’s that I spent eight weeks in Indonesia and started to get attached.

Eight weeks in Indonesia:

Luckily, I didn’t finish my eight weeks in Indonesia yet, and to start my three days in Medan; I first had to get there. Please, get me there as fast and efficiently as possible! I was still in the middle of the rainforest, and after a three-day trek, I was ready for more sleep

In the morning, I had a banana pancake. I have yet to talk about this, but that’s the best option in every place and hostel. They love their banana pancakes, and even more, they love making them for tourists.

I searched for the cheapest transport back during breakfast, but couldn’t be bothered and called a taxi instead. I just wanted to get to Medan now. Besides, even when I got there, I just wanted to spend some me-time. I took a little stroll through a local park but returned to the hostel to enjoy quiet time.

Now, my hostel that’s something different. This must be one of the best hostels I have come across. I’m sure I fell in love even more because I was the only guest. This place is brand new, clean and just beautiful. I can honestly live here. Another bonus that is pretty unique for a hostel but this one has a dog, and for the rest of the evening, he was my best friend.
