Rafting our way back into Bukit Lawang | Gunung Leuser | Vlog 165

After two days of trekking through the Gunung Leuser rainforest and one of the best views ever to wake up with, it was time to return to Bukit Lawang. However, that was for after we climbed down the mountain. This trip wasn’t the average trip, and as we were not hiking back, we returned to Bukit Lawang in style.

We walked to the river, and when we reached it, a guy was waiting for us with tires. So, we went on the river and headed downstream to town, including all waterfalls. We emerged in the rainforest for three days, and the number of Orangutangs was overwhelming.

It was a great ending to a trip with everything it was supposed to have. This trip was worth any effort. Bukit Lawang must have been one of the most fantastic places I visited in Indonesia.

Return to Bukit Lawang

Back in town, I wanted to do some work, as in a couple of weeks, I will be back in Australia. I still need to get a job lined up and will have little money left soon. It’s not that I’m stressing. It’s just that I want to prepare myself. Unfortunately, I’m in the middle of a rainforest, and the town didn’t have any electricity due to an upcoming storm. It happens a lot, they told me.

So, instead, I went to buy some beers and enjoyed the storm from my balcony. This time, it was huge enough to get it on camera. Enjoy the show, haha!

For everybody that is following along, thank you! It gives me the energy to keep creating these blogs and vlogs. Also, a big thank you to everybody trying to stay in touch with me; it means a lot. I won’t be home very soon, but I’m sending plenty of love from Indonesia 🙂
