Yesterday, I said something about how long-term travelling can pressure the person doing it. You are only for a limited time in certain places, and there is an unspoken rule to make the best of it. How you make the best of it is entirely up to the people themselves, and today, I’ll be doing what I came to do in Canggu (beach).
In the morning, I went for a stroll to a trendy, typical influencer-minded healthy place for breakfast. I say it that way because that’s the audience they want to attract. I didn’t bother much and had a sandwich, one of their trendy shakes, ate it with the view and continued my trip. There is only a little on the itinerary today except for spending time at Canggu beach.
Canggu Beach
Spending a day at Canggu beach has to be done in style. Now, I’m not the traveller to sit on the beach all day and drink out of coconuts. Instead, I went hiking along the shores of Canggu for a couple of hours. But I ended up on the beach drinking out of a coconut. I did that for hours until it was so dark that I couldn’t even see my coconut anymore. The excellent company made it happen, and I did enjoy it. At least, it took my frustrations away from being unable to do many things after my fall in Banyuwangi.
What I’m doing in the next few days is very unsure. I was thinking about going to Sumatra to escape the crowd, but maybe I should take it a bit easier. Although, my visa is running out soon, and I have to pay or leave the country. Unfortunately, I’m slowly running out of savings and want to avoid paying for a long-term visa when I might be staying in Indonesia for only a week more.
For now, I’ll sleep another night in my hostel under construction, which is still ongoing, as they said in the description. It is not that I mind, it hosts some cheap-ass travellers, and they are of great company.
