Long-term travelling isn’t always fabulous | Canggu | Vlog 148

Constantly travelling around gets you tired after a while. In earlier blogs and vlogs, I’ve said that it doesn’t feel like a holiday anymore but more like a lifestyle once you pass a certain amount of time. Daily, you see new things in new places. On top of that, you always try to meet as many people as possible to share experiences. In everyday life, you need a day at home or a day where you do absolutely nothing, but while travelling, those days feel like a waste of time. It puts pressure on this lifestyle. Today was one of those days, and I slept in for a long time. But, then, on the other hand, I’m also not in Canggu forever, and I did want to go and see things. An easy day today as I’ll be walking in Canggu!

Walking in Canggu!

I was happy to be out once I left the hostel this morning, but it felt like something I had to do more than I wanted. I met some great people in the hostel who didn’t mind just walking in Canggu, so we went out together. In addition, we made our walking day a culinary tour of Canggu as we went into every restaurant and bar we could find on the way. Not to mention that afterwards, we went for a long night at the hostel, sitting around and drinking.

Today’s company was great, and it could be one day that doesn’t work out. But I’m thinking about leaving Bali early. There are just too many tourists for me. I know I am one myself, but I like remote places more. At the moment, I’m considering even skipping Jakarta and flying to Sumatra. The other day, I watched a documentary about Indonesia, and Sumatra might be more my thing. I’ll give it the night to think about it!
