My trip to Launceston and Cradle Mountain National Park was the last trip I had planned in Tasmania. Initially, there were more things on my itinerary, but I’ve decided to go back to where it all started with the winter kicking in Australia‘s South. The weather forecast made camping and hitchhiking to remote places such as the Walls Of Jerusalem National Park almost impossible. Nothing to worry about. I still want to see many things in Australia and can only do some. Back to where it all started? That will be Melbourne!
I can stay with Nick and Issy for the first few nights in Melbourne! Two lovely friends that I made when I lived there. Afterwards, I’ll return to the United Backpackers hostel, which I still consider home in Melbourne. I’ve spent five months there and can’t wait to see it again.
Besides having the hostel as a home base again, I’m making some day trips in Victoria that I haven’t done before. It’s exciting, and it has been a while since I’ve spent time on the mainland. However, I had an incredible time in Tasmania.
So, what’s on the planning? Ever since I lived in Melbourne almost 1,5 years ago, I planned a trip to the Grampians National Park. Last time I was running out of time and also out of money. Instead of going to the Grampians back then, I walked the Great Ocean Walk. As it is my second time in Melbourne, the Grampians are definitely on this time.
Furthermore, I want to visit and re-visit some stops along the Great Ocean Road and make some day trips to the outer suburbs of Melbourne. For afterwards, I’ve got a little surprise. I’m going to make my loop an actual loop by closing the circle 🙂
