We had to take a three-hour boat through the rainforest! | Taman Negara | Vlog 178

What would you do when a six months journey is about to come to an end? Well, my new Belgian friend, Sarah, and I, have the perfect solution. Before heading into Melbourne and being surrounded by plenty of people and buildings, I first have to get as far from that as possible. Our solution was getting out of the Cameron Highlands and escaping into the middle of the Malaysian rainforest.

We do that in style! For Sarah, it is only the middle of her trip as she will be joined later by other Belgian friends, but for me, this is the last trip of an adventure that will last a lifetime. My travels are not stopping in Australia; they will be the next chapter in my journey and life. It is going to be another experience to work while travelling.

Into the Malaysian Rainforest:

The bus that took us out of the Cameron Highlands might not be the fanciest, but we are getting into the rainforest by boat. It is also not a fancy boat, but it gives the adventure its style. The trip is a three-hour boat to get to Taman Negara. Taman Negara is a little town in the Malaysian rainforest, and from there, we are in for a two-day jungle trip. Isn’t that exciting? I’m going to the big city of Melbourne, straight out of the rainforest, with a stopover in Kuala Lumpur.

After arriving, we looked around the town that would be home for a few days. Here, we are leaving our bags and getting ourselves into the rainforest. Although, that’s for tomorrow. Tonight we are getting together with the other tourists here to enjoy some beers and the surroundings. It feels like Bukit Lawang but in Malaysian rainforest style, not Indonesia. Hard to explain, but take it from me!
