I suddenly became a tour guide | Cameron Highlands | Vlog 177

I was leaving the Cameron Highlands this morning. But, because we had some new people coming into the hostel yesterday, I stayed a day longer. Before flying to Melbourne, I had two days in Kuala Lumpur planned. I could push that down to one day, so I did. The people that arrived yesterday wanted to do some hiking. Since I have made all ten of the jungle tracks in the past few days, they asked me to guide them.

In the end, they didn’t come here for the hikes. It is just because I told them about it and I can guide them that they were interested. But, if I can contribute positively to someone else’s travels this way, I’m happy to do so. Besides this way, I also have a travel companion at my next destination.

All ten of the jungle tracks?

There is no time to make all ten jungle tracks in a day, but I can take them on the best ones. Besides, we are doing the opposite way to keep it exciting for me. We hitch-hiked to one of the track’s endpoints and walked back to the town. I never expected to get picked up by six people, but then we ended up in the back of a truck! Suppose anyone has ever seen a hiking meme on Facebook. There is a high chance you saw the one where the hiker always says; we are almost there, or this is nearly the top of the hill. That was me today, and I was fitter than my team. Although we all had a good time, that was the essential part.

Tomorrow, I’m leaving the Cameron Highlands, and I will do so with Sarah, a Belgium girl. It’s funny because she is one of the first Belgian people I have met in the last six months. Besides, she is the first one that I will travel together with. Curious about the upcoming plans? Please read all about it in the following posts.
