My first morning in Berastagi was pretty lazy. I slept in, watched some series and just enjoyed laying in a big bed. As much as I see as many things as possible every time I get to a new destination, sometimes I have to take it a little easier. Besides, I did some work as most of my job applications for Australia stayed unanswered.
After updating my resume, I sent out more applications, hoping for the best. I had a shower afterwards and went for breakfast around lunchtime. The initial plan to walk up to the volcano had to be postponed till tomorrow. There needs to be more time left to do it today. Instead, I’ll be exploring Berastagi itself.
Exploring Berastagi:
My main trip for today and a must-do while exploring Berastagi is Gundaling Hill. The Gundaling Hill, at an altitude of 1,575 meters above sea level, gives fantastic views of its surroundings. Many locals here use it as a meeting place, as there is a big park and a playground.
It is filled with little bars, restaurants and stalls, making it a day trip worth of things to do. It also is a great place to watch the volcanoes in Berastagi from a distance, Mount Sibayak and Mount Sinabung. Looking at them from one of the viewing platforms, I felt bad not going to the volcanoes today, but I’ll make sure to get out of bed earlier tomorrow.
In the evening, I had to prepare travel-related things. Yesterday, I booked a flight from Kuala Lumpur to Melbourne. Next up is figuring out how to reach Kuala Lumpur from Berastagi. My itinerary could be more detailed, but after googling for hours, I have an idea of what’s about to come after exploring Berastagi! I won’t give my plans away, but my next destination will be fabulous. Keep following for more.
