Constantly travelling around becomes exhausting after a while. As I’ve mentioned in earlier blogs and vlogs, it starts to feel less like a holiday and more like a lifestyle once you’ve been on the road for a certain period of time. Every day brings new sights in unfamiliar places. On top of that, you’re constantly trying to meet as many people as possible to share experiences. In everyday life, you need rest days at home—days where you do absolutely nothing—but while travelling, those days can feel like wasted time. This creates pressure around the lifestyle. Today was one of those slower days, and I slept in late. However, I’m not in Canggu forever, and I wanted to get out and explore. So today, I’ll be taking it easy with a walk around Canggu!
Walking in Canggu!
Once I left the hostel this morning, I felt relieved to be outside, though it also felt like an obligation rather than something I genuinely wanted to do. Fortunately, I met some wonderful people at the hostel who were happy to simply walk around Canggu, so we headed out together. We turned our walk into a culinary tour, stopping at every restaurant and bar we stumbled upon. The day ended with a long evening back at the hostel, where we sat around chatting and enjoying drinks.
The company today was wonderful, and it might be one of those days that doesn’t turn out as planned. However, I’m seriously considering leaving Bali earlier than expected. There are simply too many tourists here for my liking. I know I’m a tourist myself, but I prefer more remote destinations. Right now, I’m even thinking about skipping Jakarta altogether and flying straight to Sumatra. The other day, I watched a documentary about Indonesia, and Sumatra seems like it might be more my style. I’ll sleep on it tonight and decide!
