The last few days in Yogyakarta were terrific. I spent six days exploring temples, and an active volcano, making a road trip and seeing the city itself. I also did a day of job applications with paperwork for my trip to Melbourne in Australia and had a cooking class.
On top of that, I was surrounded by the most lovely travellers and locals I often hung out with. Whenever I talk to people about my writing and editing these blogs and vlogs, I always say; that the best things don’t even make it into my videos. Ultimately, it’s only a one-minute compilation of a whole day of travelling. I sometimes don’t have my camera on me or end up with flat batteries. Although I think overall, I do very well in providing these videos! In today’s video: Kampung Biru Arema.
Kampung Biru Arema
It’s travel time again. My mode of transport today is the train! I must admit that my modes change a lot, and it is a surprise for me in most cases. In two days, I got something planned that I looked forward to, but in the meantime, I wanted to stop in Malang. This little town is not the most visited place in Java but offers excellent views that travellers should not miss! Check it out!
Malang is a semi-poor region in Indonesia with a genius idea to attract more tourism. In general, there isn’t much to see here. (However, the hostel here is one of the better. Funny how that sometimes works out!) So what did they do? They coloured a part of the town in the colour blue. When I say coloured, I mean everything in Kampung Biru Arema is blue. It is incredible to walk through and has a perfect plan to attract tourists.
Moreover, it’s the reason I’m here. I’m honestly surprised there is not more tourist coming to visit! I would 100% recommend it! In saying that, if you think blue was the thing, check out tomorrow‘s post on Malang!
