Today was a crazy day and, even more so, pretty unreal. Back at home, I watched many travel videos from people backpacking on the east coast of Australia. And now, my trip is almost finished already. It’s not that the Cape Byron lighthouse gave me those insights, but walking here felt so good. Who would have ever thought, and indeed it wasn’t me, that I would be here one day myself?
Regarding following your dreams and travelling, the only way to go with it is to do it and leave. The earlier, the better! You’ll never be fully ready, never have saved enough, never have planned enough but once the seed is planted within yourself, let it grow until it is impossible not to do it anymore.
Cape Byron Lighthouse:
I met up with Johanna again! We met earlier in my travels at Agnes Water. However, we had different travel plans in between, but we are now in Byron Bay simultaneously. I knew she was coming, so I saved visiting the Cape Byron Lighthouse for today. We only did a little outside of that.
The day existed of walking around, hiking trails, watching all the street musicians and hanging out with friends. It’s been pretty crazy, as I suddenly made many friends in a couple of days. Even better, these people are not backpackers living in my hostel; they are locals and people related to people.
I’m at the end of my east coast adventures. I don’t have the energy to keep exploring day in and day out and like to take it a little easier. That might sound more negative than it is. I’m still having a good time, but three months of exploring Australia‘s east and west coasts can be full-on. The afternoon, sitting at the little cafe with friends and live music, was more than welcome; I’ll say it that way.
