Change of plans! | It is a nightmare trying to travel in a pandemic :D

Only a week after announcing my newly made travel plans, I already have to report my change of plans. Due to the rising Covid-19 cases in Victoria and Melbourne, it’s a bad idea to leave the state of Tasmania. I’ve been waiting for two years to travel to Tasmania, so I can’t take the risk of not being allowed back in.

Once stuck in Victoria, I wouldn’t be able to get out anymore, so I have to act now. Luckily, there are some options, meaning it’s only a change of plans, not a cancellation. Besides, if this situation gets out of control, I can always pick up my job again on King Island.

Change of Plans:

This morning, I cancelled the Melbourne flight and re-booked it last minute to Hobart. My initial plan was to catch up with my local friends in Melbourne and get an itinerary together for Tasmania. The change of plans means I will have to make the itinerary as I go. I’m not too worried about it; I’ve done that before; it’s just that Tasmania isn’t the most accessible place to get around. Public transport is minimal, and I want to visit remote locations. But it’s what it is, and I’m already happy I still get to travel!

Flying from King Island to Hobart!

I’ll be spending an extra day and night on King Island before flying to Hobart tomorrow morning, which will give me some spare time to prepare. The catching-up that I would have done in Melbourne can wait for now. Adventure is about to happen again, and it’s probably going to be better with no preparations! Curious about what’s next?
