It’s day 150, and I have to figure out my future. | Kuta – Bali | Vlog 150

This morning, I left Canggu to make my way to Kuta. I felt like a proper influencer—setting up my laptop at a bar with stunning beach views. Just like in Yogyakarta, it was time for a paperwork day. With only one day left on my Indonesian visa, I had to make a decision: pay for a visa extension or fly out. While I’ve had an incredible time in Bali, I can see why it’s the perfect holiday destination for those seeking a break from work. However, it’s not my dream destination as a traveller. So, I decided to leave. On day 150, I changed my entire itinerary once again.

To Kuta or not to Kuta?

I made a plan and booked an overnight flight to Sumatra. Sumatra is also an Indonesian island, so I’m still staying in the country, but it’s not as crowded with travellers as Bali. Additionally, I found a way to obtain another free visa for Indonesia by doing a so-called visa run.

My flight from Bali routes through Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, where I have a 4-hour layover before flying to Medan in Sumatra. I’ll go through border control during those four hours to enter Malaysia and officially exit Indonesia. The fact that it’s only for four hours shouldn’t matter—this is backpacking in its purest form. My goal is to re-enter Indonesia and secure another free visa for 30 days since I’ve left the country.

Beyond the paperwork, day 150 was genuinely enjoyable. Kuta is a wonderful place to spend time, with its fantastic beach and laid-back atmosphere. As a bonus, I can add another Hard Rock Cafe to my collection—Kuta is home to Bali’s location.

On day 150, I treated myself to a concert and a delicious meal. Afterward, I headed to the airport to prepare for an intense night ahead. I’ll be flying, completing a visa run, and flying again. There won’t be much sleep over the next 24 hours, but I’m ready for the challenge. Let’s move on to day 151, as I’m certain many more adventures await.
