Blog and vlog number two, and here I am in Bangkok, Thailand. Yentl Doggen, the new solo traveller on the internet, is ready for his adventure! I took the train from the airport to the city centre of Bangkok. Although, first, I had to buy a sim card to get mobile data and search for how to get to the city centre. Yes, I didn’t even research beforehand how I would get there.
When I finally got on the train, I decided to get off it a couple of stops before my stop. I couldn’t wait; this way, I could see some landmarks on the way to the hostel. I was super tired as I didn’t sleep much on New Year’s Eve or the planes, but wow, there was so much energy in my body. These seven months will be a great adventure and have finally started.
My first night:
For the first night, I booked a private room, and after making myself comfortable, I went to rest at the swimming pool. It’s the second day of my travels, and the first one, I’m not just sitting on a plane, so that lasted only a short time. I was itching to get out there, and it was overwhelming to go there alone. Yet, it couldn’t be that hard; in the end, Bangkok is the capital of backpackers. I am at the place where so many people started their trips around the world. Sure those people weren’t just sitting by the swimming pool?
I was super happy that I found the confidence to get out there. Khao San Road didn’t disappoint me at all. It was another night of no sleeping, but this was the best start I could have given myself! We have started, and there is no turning back!
