1500 km of west coast in 4 days? No way!

Okay, this escalated quickly. After having the most glorious day on Rottnest Island, day 43 was ultimately the opposite. Back in Belgium, I had my whole Asia trip prepared; I had places I wanted to go to and things I wanted to see. Afterwards, I would fly to Australia and start my big adventure in Perth. The things I planned over here got ticked off my list, but this is also as far as my plans went. During my trip to Asia, I already looked into things to do but have yet to make detailed plans. There needed to be more time to plan a whole Australian journey, and there was no public transport on the west coast. So, where do I go from here?

I am planning my west coast trip.

Day 43 was a mess, probably the first time I doubted this decision to travel for a long time. It crossed my mind to fly to the east coast, where travelling around is much easier. Sounds great, but then I would only spend four days along the 1500 km west coast coastline.

For a break from planning and reading about my options, a friend and I met for lunch. This trip provided itself because we sorted out a plan for me. I would hire a car, drive up to Exmouth, back to Perth and fly to the east coast.

Acting fast, I got back to the hostel, called a company with reasonable prices on campervans and booked one for the day after. The rest of the day was to figure out a realistic itinerary and research everything.

I picked up the van in the morning, went grocery shopping afterwards, and started my west coast adventure. The first destination was Lancelin, and on the way, I had some beaches planned and a sunset view from the campervan in the evening. I’m now officially road-tripping the west coast of Australia. Not having a plan is also having a plan, but not really, haha!
