If you still need to read my last blog and vlog, I arrived in Coffs Harbour yesterday evening. I must have searched for the wrong bus stop because my expected short walk to the hostel was a 2.5-hour walk. Besides that, it rained, so I was drained when I got to the hostel around midnight. My trip here could have started better.
The story continues today because I couldn’t sleep at all! When I checked my phone, it was already 4 am, and I hadn’t slept yet. Instead of letting it get to my heart, I decided to go for an extended sunrise walk. Starting with the Coffs Harbour Jetty, I headed to the Muttonbird Island Nature Reserve. A little reserve just in front of the Coffs Harbour – harbour. It was great, and the views were spectacular and worth getting out of bed!
Coffs Harbour
I was in a walking mood, so I didn’t return to the hostel afterwards. Instead, I searched for some lovely parks and botanical gardens to explore. I took the big loop walk in the gardens and had a good time alone. I felt incredibly grateful for being in Coffs Harbour, leaving me with five days out of my 45-day bus pass.
The previous months have been a fantastic adventure! There are some lessons to be learned from the past months. But overall, I couldn’t have done it any better. Coffs Harbour, unfortunately, is the start of the end of my fantastic trip to Australia. At least, for now!
Okay, five more days on my bus pass and about ten days before the end of my 3-months visa in Australia. I decided to return to Australia to check out Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia and the Northern Territory later.
Therefore, I’m moving my New Zealand trip a couple of months further and going elsewhere to allow time for my new Australian visa to process. I didn’t know where to go until I walked into the hostel today! I’ve already said that my trip usually provides for itself. It comes with signs about what and where I have to go. So, walking in, I found Indonesian money on the floor. Could this be the sign? I could go to Indonesia in 10 days.
