The time I spent in Agnes Water and the Town of 1770 was unforgettable. I was surrounded by fantastic people in a hostel that is still one of the best I have ever stayed in. The atmosphere was indescribable; for a while, everything just fell into place for everyone there.
I said goodbye to my friends in the evening because my bus to my next destination, Hervey Bay, would leave early in the morning. I still am on a slight time limit, and there is so much more to follow on this trip; a traveller has to do what he has to do. Sad as I was to go, I was also very excited to get on the road again.
Hervey Bay:
Arriving in Hervey Bay, I went exploring by myself again. I wandered around the harbour on my first rainy day since Chiang Mai. The rain in Cairns doesn’t count; that was barely anything, besides it for the wet season, it was pretty dry and only very humid.
I made some friends quickly, and we decided to head into town for a night out. Afterwards, the hostel organised a free barbecue so all the guests could meet each other. It felt great to go from one incredible group of people to another. Day 90 marks three months on the road, so we also made some fun plans for tomorrow.
Thanks, everyone, for following along. I am almost travelling for three months now, which is about a third of this incredible journey. If you have read the previous posts, you will know that extending the trip might be an option. We will have to wait and see what I decide in the end. I do miss Belgium a lot, but this travelling is something I need to do. It feels right and gives me time to think about my life choices back home in Belgium. For now, I am having a truly great time!
