Hobart video drops at last! A few days ago I left southern Tasmania behind, heading north toward my main goals: Launceston and Cradle Mountain National Park. Before diving into the state’s north, I wanted to finish my travel videos from the south — saving the massive South Coast Track project for later when there’s more editing time.
I’ve passed through Hobart three times this past month. First when I flew in from King Island, then to prepare gear and supplies for the South Coast Track, and finally when I returned celebrating its completion. Most footage in this video comes from those initial two weeks, when I was still finding my feet in the city and ticking off all the main attractions.
Adjusting felt strange after 14 months on remote King Island. City sounds, traffic, people everywhere — I felt like a stranger stumbling back into the real world. Looking through all my Tasmania footage now, you can see me constantly seeking those quiet escapes — from Freycinet crowds to Maria Island silence to the total isolation of the South Coast Track. Fresh off publishing the Port Arthur video, here’s Tasmania’s capital in full.
