I decided to extend my stay at this hostel once again. Today, we organized a morning trip that I couldn’t miss. Over the past two days, I’ve been cycling around Agnes Water and the Town of 1770, which was incredible. Then yesterday evening, a group of us decided to drive to Springs Beach in the morning to catch the sunrise together.
Spring Beach
We all woke up early this morning, which was painful since we’d stayed up late the night before, but it was absolutely worth it. It must have been quite a sight for the other hostel guests as half of us left together at dawn. We made it just in time to watch the sunrise at Springs Beach, and it was magnificent.
The entire day turned out to be wonderful and exactly what I needed. We packed breakfast and lunch before leaving (yes, we prepared everything early in the morning—earlier than shown in the video). We spent the whole day exploring the coastline and relaxing together on the beach.
We also went swimming several times throughout the day. It was a lovely rest day, and exactly what I needed. Spending quality time with the same people allowed me to deepen connections, hear their stories, and build friendships that will last far beyond this trip. It really highlights how important it is to surround yourself with the right people. While Springs Beach itself wasn’t particularly remarkable, the company made the experience absolutely priceless.
What’s next?
Tomorrow, I’m planning to move on. My visa is running out in about a month or something, and my bus pass expires around the same time. I’ve had an incredible time here, but I need to keep exploring. After returning from our sunrise trip, I took some time to plan the rest of my itinerary.
It’s now official—I’ll have to return to Australia later. For this trip, the most realistic goal is reaching Sydney. There simply isn’t enough time to make it to Melbourne. Tasmania and the Northern Territory are also out of reach for now. The main question I keep wrestling with is whether to apply for another tourist visa or pursue a working visa instead. Returning at a later date is also an option, but I’d prefer not to leave. I’m here right now, so I should make the most of it!
