The next stop on this Malaysian adventure is in Muar. I’m on my way to Singapore, and I’m getting closer every day. Besides Singapore, it also means that I’m getting closer to the start of my Australian journey, and I can’t wait. I’ve been researching some things to do and see, which will be great. I plan to spend three months in Australia and looking back at how awesome the last month was made me super excited. But first, let’s spend a day in Muar. My grandmother always used to say there is a time for everything, and this Asian adventure is far from over. It’s at least another week before I fly to Perth.
Arriving in Muar:
I took the bus this morning from Melaka into Muar and started my day with some well-deserved breakfast and coffee. This coffee put Muar into my plans as we are drinking the oldest and the best brand of coffee in Malaysia today! It wasn’t just some regular coffee.
I walked to the hostel afterwards, a longer walk than expected. It was worth the long walk (with my backpack) as this hostel is just fantastic. One of the best and most amazing hostels I’ve stayed in so far. I didn’t even want to leave; I just wanted to hang out here and rest for the day.
The hostel is a little while out of the centre, so today we are exploring by bike. Muar is a charming place. There is a little to see, and I did all attractions within one day, but it’s a nice place to visit. Also, I walked in the park, and there were monkeys everywhere. I thought I’d soon go plenty of them at the Batu Caves, but there was even more.
However, I had a great day and felt a bit alone. There were few people in the hostel as this is not popular. So I almost didn’t talk to anyone today. I’m getting used to it, no big dramas, but today was the first time I felt it.
