A few weeks ago, I announced my brand‑new music project, Yentl As Anything. In that same post, I shared a list of our upcoming concerts around the island. Well — the first one is officially behind us! We kicked off the season at the Harbour Bash Festival in the beautiful Currie Harbour on King Island. It couldn’t have been a better start to summer: warm weather, ocean views, and a crowd that finally got to dance again.
Local photographer Michael Laskey, one of King Island’s best, captured the night perfectly. I’m thrilled to share some of his fantastic photos here on the website — scroll down to relive the gig with us!
A huge thank‑you to my incredible bandmates Daniel, Jess, and Tom for turning every rehearsal into something unforgettable, and to Wade for, well, just about everything: introducing me to the island’s musicians, opening Parenna Place Studio to us, and fine‑tuning the Yentl As Anything sound until it truly came alive. This music project means the world to me, and I’m already looking forward to Sundays — our rehearsal day — every single week.
With summer back on King Island, the next few weeks are going to be busy and brilliant with more gigs coming up. I promise to share plenty of news, stories, and photos — so stay tuned!
Some of you wrote saying you’ve been waiting for more regular updates about the travel itself — and you’re right, my last big posts were almost a year ago! The year didn’t go as anyone expected, but there’s finally light at the end of the tunnel, and I’m slowly making plans again.
