Amazing places to eat and drink in Launceston, Tasmania

After living and working on King Island for over a year, I flew to mainland Tasmania to travel around and explore most of the state. I started my journey in the south, slowly working my way up to the north. Hobart makes the perfect starting point in the south. In the north, Launceston serves as the ideal base city.

Launceston strikes that sweet balance—it’s not overwhelmingly big and busy like a major city, yet large enough to feel vibrant and exciting. When I lived on King Island, Launceston became my favorite getaway spot for island breaks. After multiple visits exploring its food scene, I’ve put together this list of the best places to eat and drink.

Watch the after-movie from one of my Launceston trips below, then check out these must-visit spots. If I’ve missed any favorites, let me know in the comments!
