Another day alone in the rainforest

I’ve been cheating a little bit with this post. On my 68th day of travelling, I stayed in my hostel. I needed a plan to get started on the rest of my travels in Australia. My diving course finished, and I’ve been in Cairns long enough. While doing my research, I discovered the Greyhound bus. It drives all along the east coast and has an unlimited 45 days pass. This way, I can get to Melbourne with all stops in between without worrying about anything.

Also, they have free wifi onboard, which is a big bonus for all the long distances! In saying that, I’ll have to come back to Australia at one point to see the centre of Australia and Tasmania. I will need more time than I have on this three months visa!

I am still booked in for extra nights at the hostel, so I went to the rainforest again. Since I also wanted to see some waterfalls, Barron Gorge National Park was the best option. There were no buses to get me there, so I hired a bike! It was beautiful biking there, but I underestimated the hills.

Another day spent alone in the rainforest, check! Luckily, no crocodiles on the way! Lucky me, it can get crazy here in Australia! I will feel that in my legs for the next couple of days! But a good day is always worth any effort.

My east coast adventure is about to start, and I can’t wait. With my Greyhound bus booked in, things will even get better. I’ll keep you updated on all destinations and daily activities!
