Yentl As Anything is more popular than ever, already powering through our third gig back on King Island! The band is absolutely pumped for this next show after the roaring success of our ’60s/70’s Night at the Club. The Phoenix Community House Family Christmas Festival lands on November 19th—a proper family celebration packed with live music, sizzling BBQ, heaps of giveaways, kids’ activities, and pure island holiday spirit that no one should miss!

King Island’s 2021/22 music season is firing on all cylinders, and Yentl As Anything leads the charge. This Phoenix Festival marks just one date in our stacked calendar—private functions, beach parties, surprise collaborations, and of course the legendary Festival of King Island (FOKI) loom ahead. Phoenix Community House Christmas Festival Details

Phoenix Community House, an Australian Government-funded facility under Tasmania’s Houses scheme, hosts this daytime extravaganza from their sparkling new building at the end of Meech Street. It’s become a true community cornerstone, organizing everything from Men’s Shed projects and Women’s Shed crafts to cooking classes (my website partner Avalon even nailed a dumpling masterclass there!), King Island Community Garden sessions, scrabble tournaments, Heart Foundation walks, and heaps more. Their mission connects islanders of all ages through meaningful activities and events—hosting our Christmas Festival feels like celebrating right alongside family.

We kick off at 7 PM sharp with a special family-friendly set curated from our massive repertoire of over 65 songs. Since kids and grandparents will fill the crowd, we’re focusing on upbeat crowd-pleasers perfect for all ages—festive singalongs, foot-tappers, and dance floor fillers that get everyone moving together. Add in juicy BBQ plates, cold drinks, jumping castles, face painting, and awesome giveaway prizes, and you’ve got King Island’s official Christmas kickoff!
