Sweet Home Alabama – Lynyrd Skynyrd
Lynyrd Skynyrd, an American Southern rock band, the song Sweet Home Alabama on their second album, Second Helping (1974). It was composed in reaction to Southern Man, a song by Neil Young from 1970 that they felt condemned the entire South for American slavery. Young is mentioned in the song’s lyrics. It became the group’s highest-charting single in 1974 when it peaked at eight on the US chart. The song is well-known around the world and is still makes it often on radio stations. The drum transcription of this song is pretty straightforward, as it evolves around a couple of standard grooves.
